If, like us, you’ve got pets partial to a leaf nibble, you want to be sure that whatever they are chewing on isn’t going to cause them any harm. Unfortunately a lot of common houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested so we’ve put together a list of our top pet friendly houseplants, so you can add some green lushness to your home without having to worry about your furry companion.

Kentia Palm

The Kentia Palm has become one of the most popular indoor palms due to it being low maintenance and tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Boston Fern

A playful plant, you’ll probably find your cat or puppy playing with the lush green fronds of the Boston Fern. With its bushy yet elegant appearance it’s pretty obvious to see why the Boston Fern is such a well loved houseplant. Best displayed in a hanging planter or a pot where its foliage can cascade over the edge, the Boston Fern absolutely loves a humid environment and benefits from being rotated regularly to encourage even growth.

Chinese Money Plant

The Chinese Money Plant is a must have for any modern indoor jungle, with its quirky round, coin shaped leaves. The distinctive Chinese Money Plant is small enough to sit comfortably on a windowsill or side table. The plant is fast growing, reasonably low maintenance and is often affectionately called the Friendship Plant as it is so easy to propagate and share with friends. The Chinese Money Plant is also believed to have good feng shui; bringing good luck and fortune to its owner (and perhaps even their pets).
